Vikram Sarabhai Library (VSL) at IIM Ahmedabad depends on RemoteXs to extend off-campus access to its subscribed eResources for its authorized users.
VSL has subscribed to various valuable online databases such as : EBSCO, IEEE Explore, Data Monitor 360, Springer Link, Science Direct and services like EBSCO Discovery, Ebrary etc. To maximize usage of these resources VSL wanted a tool to facilitate off-campus access.
After defining their requirement, VSL evaluated available technologies and products in each category to discover that RemoteXs was addressing their key requirements of auto-administration, usage reports, misuse monitoring etc.
Today this service is greatly appreciated by faculty members and student of IIM Ahmedabad. The off-campus remote access has given them the freedom of accessing eResources anytime, from anywhere...
Students heavily use this facility during their summer internship, when almost 90 users log on to this system on a daily basis.
